While I find the food fresh and the service excellent, the food is a little overpriced given it's a fast food type restaurant and not fine dining.

Sooooo good! I love this place. Not to mention their staff is always so nice. You can tell they take a lot of pride in what they do, every time I come in they're always sweeping, cleaning, etc if there's no one to wait on.

Punjabi/ Mexican food sounds odd, but as soon as you try it you wonder why it hasn't been done before. The flavors mesh together in a way that you can't get enough of. The food is always fresh and mouth watering. I had the crab enchiladas and I would give them five stars just for the enchiladas alone, they were that good. My husband had the jerk chicken burrito and trust me, he is super picky and he loved the burrito! We will be returning in the very near future because everything on the menu looked good.

this is a wonderful restaurant for Indian inspired, clean, flavorful food. It's fresh, spicy, interesting, inexpensive and nutritious. We stop several times a month for take-out. My favorite is the lamb and smoked eggplant rice plate. Wonderful!

Yummy, yummy, yummy is what I can say about this place. Who knew that a combo of Mexican & Indian flavors would work do well. I had the chicken curry, pumpkin enchiladas and they were very good. My husband had the jerk chicken enchiladas and loved them. My 4 year old had the salmon & rice plate with a side of curry ( not spicey) veggies, which were delicious! One thing I would is bigger portions for the price and more sour cream on the enchiladas...also some green salad on the side would go a long way to making the plate taste & seem more complete.  All in all a solid option for lunch or dinner, we will definitely be back.

I've been an Avatar fan since 1998 when I would frequent the Sausalito location. Their food is amazing! Pumpkin enchiladas are my favorite. Sounds weird, but oh so good. I live in LA now, and haven't found anywhere that compares. I have to get my fix every time I travel up to Marin!

The food was wonderful and affordable. Fresh ingredients. A wonderful server. And we ate outside on a lovely day. What could be better

Amazing food! Had the curried pumpkin chicken burrito and mango lassi. The service was really awesome as well. The restaurant is super nice to sit in.

Being huge fans of both Mexican and Indian food, we are so happy to have found Avatar's.  It's a delightful combination of Mexican dishes (enchiladas, burritos, etc) with Indian spices and fillings.  The food is very fresh and flavorful, and they have a multitude of vegan and vegetarian options (curry vegetables, sweet potato, pumpkin, mustard greens with tofu, etc).  The staff is courteous and very willing to accommodate.  When I asked for "dairy-free" they didn't bat an eye.  They have a sign saying that they prepare their foods oil-free!  The dishes are so tasty, who needs the oil?!  With a clean, modern dining area, courteous, caring staff, and fresh, healthy and tasty food, we are so pleased.  We will be coming back again and again.

Started with the vegetarian samosa plate. Vegetables inside the flour pastry were cooked to perfection. The homemade yogurt and mango purée was absolutely delicious that went with the dish. I ordered the curried lamb burrito. The perfect amount of curry and lamb. Yum! The burrito doesn't have a traditional tortilla on the outside. It has an Indian bread that is thicker and balances out the flavors. Super good!

Everything is so tasty and flavorful. Wonderful healthy options and friendly staff. Perfect portion sizes. I had the blackened veggies with tofu over rice tonight, and it was delicious!!! I sat at the counter, watching Fairfax roll by. Great meal.

Being a vegan , its hard enough for me to have lots of choices specially when i am out of San Francisco and to add to it , i was super hungry and craving for indian food after biking for 30 miles from SF to Fairfax. So i yelp for vegan food and just one option pops up and then i try vegetarian and i see "Punjabi Burrito" along with some more options . I decided to try this place with lot of skepticism that it would be another Burrito place trying to do some Indian Mexican fusion . So here is the short summary of my experience : Positives : 1. The two people taking the order were very knowledgeable about vegan eating and based their recommendations accordingly 2. The Burrito was super delicious and filing . The best part was they used Indian Bread instead of Tortias which i am not a big fan of . All the ingredients inside the Burrito were truly authentic Indian style cooked e.g. they had indian mango pickle inside the Burrito :-) 3. Very Economical, it cost me $9 for a big burrito . I know you are looking for negatives but there were none except for the fact that my phone fell off while trying to take the picture of the restaurant and i broke the screen .

This place is a great with it's delicious punjabi food with a twist! I had the punjabi burrito with pumpkin curry for $7.50 and thoroughly enjoyed the mixture of pumpkin, rice, and other stuff. The seating area is well lit and feels open. You also have the choice to sit at the window or at a table either inside or outside. It's right across from Good Earth, the grocery store, so I bet the window seats are prime for people watching! I am excited to come back and try the grilled eggplant burrito!

The flavor of the chicken and eggplant enchilada was fantastic! The chai was perfect ($3.50) but note no free refills. The veggie samosa was tasty, and the sauces it came with were delicious (albeit with a touch too much garlic in the cilantro dip). Will look forward to returning soon!
